Optimal alignment of production is the key to meeting the challenges of economic competition, which cause increasing cost pressure and intensified competition. However, only those who know and can exploit their free production potential can be smart and efficient. The difficulty here is that in the process of production optimization to have an overview and control of all restrictions in production and all planning-relevant resources, especially with regard to bottleneck resources.
Potential Production provides optimal support in obtaining this important information. Starting from a resource, all products that can be produced on this resource are determined with a special algorithm. The quantities that could be produced with the open capacity are then de-termined for these products. Preliminary products are also taken into account.
Using the current production plan, the planner receives concrete suggestions as to which other logistics chains could be planned on a capacity basis, including a display of all customers for the product, which he can then transfer to Sales and Distribution. The sales department can then use this valuable information to search for larger or additional orders and earlier delivery dates for the product. This avoids idle time and increases profitability.
